Not all the time
I think weekday $18 and weekends $20. Limited choices in buffet but good quality. Dinner is too pricey but obviously good
Delicious food but rude staff. I made reservation for our office Christmas lunch over a month ago. Then they "lost" it because we didn't return their voicemail immediately. Pro tip: Don't bother making a reservation. They won't honor it.
Good place for indian food..though not a fan of their desert
That’s the lowest possible. I and my husband went there for dinner on Feb 14. They charged a high price and food was very very bad. Also, They had no a la carte that day! Very disappointing and bad experience...
Food - ok Ambience : great Price : Ok Location : Great Waiting time : PoorOver all Service - Ok
I honestly like their dishes and service, awesome area right next to my apartment. The workers are always kind. Will come back again.
Worst Indian food I ever had in the Bay Area.. I typically don’t write reviews, but this place ruined a special experience, so I want to spread the awareness before you visit this place. First of all, their service was extremely slow and servers showed rude mannerism. The appetizers (eggplant and paneer dish) were so bad that they smelled rotten (we even gave feedback to chef, however, he just walked away and never showed up again). On top of that, at the end, 18% gratuity was automatically added to the order of 2 people. I’m still having stomach upset after eating some of their food. I never had such a bad experience at any Indian restaurant in the Bay Area — for 2 people, the bill was over $180.. I will recommend to stay away from this place and use your money with caution here (may be carry stomach upset pills).. I wish they would have listened and acted promptly to the feedback.
One of the only high end Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Creative Indian dishes and great ambience. Santana Row is always fun to hang out!
Great food and ambience
Excellent weekend buffet. Not over-spicy like some other places. Great decor and great location too.
This is a fine dining indian restaurant. Food is priced on the expensive side. I have been here a few times and tasted different things. I like the samosa, paneer tikka, chai, chana masala, okra, and the pulao. The salmon is very dry. Cocktails are pretty good. Service is good. Food sometimes takes long to arrive. It is presented excellently.
Went here for team buffet. Buffet spread was average and so was taste of food. Have had better tasting Indian food in bay area.Their we constantly running out of buffet plates and when plates arrived they had some paperish residue.(possibly b'coz of partial wipe with paper towels)Plus waiter was impatient. Kept missing my order for drink. Requested him 3 times but I never got it. I finally gave up. Same with roti/nan basket. Not restaurant I visit back again.
Very well kept and welcoming restaurant. They offer big meals and for reasonable prices. We enjoyed the menu very much and the staff members were very amiable and explanatory. Highly recommended.
I always come by buying some food here. I enjoy the prompt customer service and well made dishes. 5 stars.
This place is a diamond in the rough!Great location and plenty of seats. I will go back.Very friendly environment. There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. The price for our meals was very reasonable.Friendly staff and tasty food. The place was hustling and bustling with high energy, and everyone had a smile on their face.we'll be back! It's definitely my favorite,It has a friendly atmosphere and you can actually carry on a conversation because they do not have loud music playing....You can really tell that the owner(s) are hands on.(My only complaint - not their fault - is the parking lot.)
Excellent customer service and great buffet. Everything I tried was good and they were very attentive to picking up my used plate, refilling my water and brining me Naan without me even asking. And all his for a wonderful price . I would highly recommend this place to anybody.
no flavor not worth the price and long waits
It is not as upscale as their San Francisco branch. Also, the food is not nearly as good as in SF but still decent. Would suggest visit the SF branch if you have to select between the 2.
It's a good place for one time hangout. Limited menu options but food is great. Would recommend it to friends
The paneer khata and butter chicken were authentic and flavorful.
Upscale Indian restaurant in Santana Row located near the cinemas. Parking is available at the Santana Row parking garage which is close by. Wait staff was allergy aware and there were several gluten free and peanut free options on the menu and on the buffet. Food was tasty but not very spicy.
Tried both of their lunch buffet and dinner menu. Ambiance is good and food is tasty. But more options on dinner menu would be great.
Good food and great service
Fine dining Indian restaurant with good ambiance. The meats are very juicy and well cooked. Idly munchoorian is a must try. They are rice cakes cut into pieces, fried and tossed in munchoorian sauce. Harabara kabab is another must try. Shrimp Curry has Goan flavors. Kofta source is yummy!
Had pleasure of going to Amber this evening with friends and was very pleased at the ambiance food and service. Staff was very polite and ready to please you. Manager Poonam Ghosh kept asking if everything was to our satisfaction . My friends loved the food compliments to the chef. I have been for lunch many times dinner few times. I would highly recommend Amber to all.
Expensive good food!
Good food but felt it's overrated and crazy noise where we couldn't enjoy our time there. If you are here only for food then you wouldn't be disappointed. Ambience is good but service was a little slow.
Great food! Great experience!
Not great 👎 food was not tasty. We had a very bad experience 😕😕
Good food. Actually really great food. Great ambience and staff. But a bit noisy for an upscale place so took 1 star off for that. But still would highly recommend for the food.
This is my most favourite Indian restaurant in bay area. Amber India is a blessing for people like me who keep searching for authentic taste in Indian food. The ambience is great. Service is pleasing. Food is delicious. Extra perk for visiting this place is, after your meal you can take a stroll in Santana Row. A must try place!
This site is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. everytime I feel like having a delicious lunchon, this restaurant comes immediately to my mind. very good and many types of food and a rich cuisine.trained crew, and pleasant ambience. Not less important, the price is honest. I praise this spot with pleasure.
Great food and nice appetizers here!
Great lunch buffet and atmosphere. Had a good lunch experience and good place for groups. Food was awesome!
We were here for an company event lunch buffet. The decor and service are nice. Our group was seated in the inner room, which is nice as it's like a septated area.Food wise it's a bit lacing, both in variety and tastes. I remember other Amber locations around South Bay offers more choices, especially meats.
This spot has superb service and delicious meals. One of the best place in the area. The food served quickly and the rates were affordable. Recommended.
Tasty buffet, I was very happy with the selection
Its not bad but does not give justice to the locality. Like a regular indian restaurant.
Good service and good tasting food. However, prices are high. We had vegetarian dishes: samosas, dal, paneer, and naan. The samosas were good because they were not greasy. The dal was good to me because it tasted fresh. My favorite was the paneer in tomato gravy (forgot the name). I recommend this dish the most. The clay oven paneer was good to try too. You could taste its baked. Overall it was a nice restaurant but pricy.
Good food. 4.5:stars. Good service. Appetizers were best. Palak chat, paneer Tikka, fried fish. In main course paneer dish was best.
Fine dine restaurant with beautiful ambiance. I loved the food and service was quick. Curries were good but starters were amazing. We ordered dahi kabab and paneer tikka. Prices are on higher side.
Extremely poor service. Ate my meals without a spoon. Food is nothing special. The tables and chairs were not what you expect from an upscale place. Not worth the money.
Food was quite tasty. Enjoyed several different dishes and found them to be satisfactory and the breads were very hot and fresh. Water tasted a little off and one of the chicken dishes seemed a bit undercooked which was a little unnerving. Service was very disappointing. We were a party of 6 and the only ones there but still took a long time to get our order in and we were never followed up on after the initial order. They added an 18 percent gratuity I'm assuming due to our larger party so I guess they felt they could get us our food and be done with it.Overall pretty bad service, pricey and small portions but very tasty.
In my humble opinion this is the best Indian restaurant in San Jose. It is definitely not cheap, but the quality of the food, service, location etc. are worth the price. The dishes are quite large so take that into account, and don't miss the naan bread and dips for starters - it really gives the whole meal a better start.Important: free parking at the beginning of Santana Row street (this is the address on Google Maps: 330 Winchester Blvd, San Jose, CA 95128).
Nice indian restaurant in Santana row. Ample choice of fine appetizers and delicious main courses.
They serve large dishes and for convenient prices. very kind staff. 5 stars from me.
Excellent clean place for authentic Indian food.Very good variety of food.Loved it.
Frontier kebab was delicious. Paneer tikka was not great
Food was pretty good here but what really made the experience solid was the staff's attitude - especially the bartender. I ordered a drink while waiting for some friends show up. All the drinks' names are cryptic so I picked one with coconut in it. Not exactly what I was expecting - in fact, it was borderline undrinkable. I went up to the bartender and explained my lack of cocktail insight in an apologetic tone - cool, no questions asked. He dumped it out and asked me what I'd rather have instead. Way cool. Again - almost all of the dishes we had were excellent. Just a word of caution on Nalli Vindaloo - when they mean spicy: it's really spicy. No joke. This is something you'll likely enjoy twice - once on the way in and .... another on the way out.
Delicious Amber India food! Ordered delivery a couple times, and it became the go to spot. This is my first time at the restaurant and it's lovely. Definitely recommend this spot, one of the best in CA on the east side.
Had placed an order for dinner today. The food was simply disgusting. The butter chicken was smelly and days old. You would need a lot of muscle power to break the chicken pieces. The naan’s were burnt. When I had called the restaurant to give this feedback I was told that same batch is being given to all customers. I am sure a lot of people will be having dirrahea and vomiting tonight. Amber used to be my favorite restaurant and I used to recommend their butter chicken to other people. Can’t believe the food quality has deteriorated so much, not sure if it’s new management or chef. I appreciate the gesture of offering butter chicken on the house when I order next time but I will pass. I am done with my last order at Amber. Order and eat @Amber at your own risk.
